Choose the look with your yard in view

Start from your backyard

Your photo supplies the setting for the concept: siding, doors, landscaping and the proposed deck location.

Compare material directions

Explore the look of wood, composite or PVC from the catalog. Each new generated option uses a render.

Review the change

Use the before-and-after comparison to discuss the design with a partner, homeowner or builder.

Five images for one project

Buy three concepts and two refinements for US$19 once. Clean downloads and before-and-after comparison are included, with no subscription.

How it works

  1. Use a clear photo. Include the house wall, doorway and entire area where the deck would go.
  2. Describe the deck. Say where the deck should go and select a material from the available library.
  3. Purchase and compare. Buy your US$19 pack, then review the original photo beside the AI render and check how the color works with your house.
  4. Try a second look. Generate another material option, then download the ones you want to show for feedback.

How to compare deck materials on your photo

A deck visualizer helps answer a visual question: which deck color and material direction works with this house? PaperPlan uses your uploaded photo as the starting point for an AI concept.

Keep the comparison useful

Use the same photo and proposed deck area for both renders. Change one thing, such as a warm wood tone versus a gray composite, so you can judge the difference without changing the whole scene.

Choose a photo that shows the build area

Take the photo in daylight from far enough back to include the whole proposed deck and the door it connects to. Heavy shadows, obstructions and a cropped build area make a concept harder to judge.

Use physical samples for the final color

The catalog identifies available products, but AI generation, lighting and your screen can change how color and grain appear. Compare physical manufacturer samples at your home before choosing a product to order.

Review details before discussing a build

AI can change scene details or draw impractical stairs, railings and proportions. Use the render to communicate a preference, then have a builder check measurements, structural design and local requirements.

Common questions

Can I upload a photo of my own backyard?

Yes. Start a project with your backyard photo, describe where the deck should go and select an available material. The generated image uses that photo as context for the concept.

Is there a free deck visualizer?

PaperPlan does not offer a free generated preview. The Deck Ideas Pack is US$19 once for three concepts and two refinements in one backyard project. Upload and review your photo before paying.

Do I need dimensions to visualize a deck?

You can start a visual concept from a photo without exact dimensions. A builder still needs verified measurements before estimating quantities, preparing drawings or building.

Will the render match the exact decking color?

No image can guarantee an exact product match. AI generation, the original photo and display settings affect appearance. Use physical samples and current product specifications for the final choice.

Can I compare and share different materials?

Yes. Generate separate material options in the same project, review them with your original photo and download the ones you like to share. Projects stay private.
