Suburban backyard before and after a finished composite deck render generated from a real photo

Why this page exists

Renders in about a minute

Photo in, photorealistic deck out. Built for the homeowner’s driveway, not the office.

Multi-brand material library

Trex, TimberTech, Fiberon, Deckorators, cedar, pressure-treated pine: same yard, every option.

Pre-qualify leads

Send a render before driving out. Tire kickers disappear. Serious buyers respond faster.

Proposal export

Pro turns a finished render into a branded PDF proposal with scope, pricing, timeline, and terms.

How it works

  1. Upload the site photo. Use a phone photo of the homeowner’s backyard. No measurements or CAD file needed for the first visual.
  2. Mark the deck area. Drag to outline where the deck goes and add stairs if you want them.
  3. Choose material and design. Pick composite, PVC, cedar, or pressure-treated. Compare looks on the same photo.
  4. Render, share and propose. A render takes about a minute. Share it with the homeowner, or attach it to a branded proposal with Contractor Pro.

Deck Design Software, Built for the Sale

Deck design software for small contractors usually means CAD-style 3D modeling and a learning curve. PaperPlan is the opposite: a phone-first sales tool that turns a backyard photo into a finished render the homeowner actually understands.

  • Photo-first input. The homeowner’s yard is already there. Mark the deck area and let the render do the rest.
  • Mobile-first UI. Designed to run on a phone in the field, not on a desktop. No app download. It’s a browser app.
  • Realistic materials. Real brand colors and grain patterns from Trex, TimberTech, Fiberon, AZEK, Deckorators, cedar, and PT pine.
  • Multi-render projects. Render the same yard in three materials. Email the homeowner a link with all three.
  • Branded proposal export. PDF proposal with logo, scope, pricing, terms, and the render, ready to send before you leave the driveway.
  • Built for solo and 1–5 person crews. US$19 once for a homeowner project. Contractor Pro is US$99/month or US$840 billed annually for ongoing volume and proposal export.

Common questions

Is PaperPlan deck design software or just a renderer?

It’s a sales-and-design tool. The renderer is the centerpiece, but the workflow extends to project storage, sharing, and branded proposal export so a contractor can run a job from first photo to signed scope.

Do I need CAD or 3D experience?

No. The whole point is to skip CAD. If you can take a photo on a phone, you can use PaperPlan.

Does it work for raised decks, multi-level decks, and stairs?

Yes. You can mark complex deck areas and add stairs and railing on top of the rendered deck. Multi-level decks are best rendered in two passes (lower and upper) and combined visually.

How does this compare to SketchUp or Trex Deck Designer?

SketchUp is great for measured 3D models. Trex Deck Designer is great for spec work in the Trex catalog. PaperPlan is the tool for the driveway sales conversation: fast, photo-based, and multi-brand.
